Their only loss in five matches was against Liverpool, and it is in this competition that they need much improvement, having won just one of the opening five games.

Atletico Madrid are coming from yet another uninspiring show, losing 2-1 at home to Mallorca in La Liga. They have a really patchy run, and going to this game they have just three wins in the last 10 matches. In Portugal, they are faced with a game they must win and it will be tough because the hosts too are gunning for a win to be safe. Atletico have just one clean sheet in the last five matches and their defensive performances could hurt them here. They’ve however failed to score in just one game and will want to extend that scoring run. The Spanish giants have no win in their last three Champions League matches, and have failed to score in the last two. This season, in the Champions League, Atletico have managed just one clean sheet, and failed to score in three of the five.
