La Liga side Cadiz feature in Copa Del Rey action this week when they travel to take on third-tier outfit Pontevedra. Although they have spent much of their history playing in the top flight, Cadiz has never reached a Copa Del Rey final. The furthest they made it in the competition was the semi-final stage way back in 1990. Pontevedra has not competed in the top flight of Spanish football since 1970. As this lack of success would imply, they have not been triumphant in the cup either, reaching the quarter-final stage twice in the 60s. Presently third in the Segunda B table, Pontevedra dreams that the good times could return soon. They are unbeaten in eight of their last nine matches. On home soil, they have put together a six-game undefeated streak too. The last time they played against Cadiz, the Yellow Submarine was also submerged in a lower tier, back in 2005.
