Ireland's shock win over Germany on Thursday evening meant the elimination of Scotland. That gives Ireland at least a play-off place but a win in Poland will take them to France next year. It was certainly a night of many twists and turns on Thursday with Poland winning one minute in Scotland, trailing the next and then grabbing a late equalizer. They begin this game in second place level on points with Ireland and only needing a draw to guarantee a place in the finals. Their home form in this group has been really strong with three wins, including one over Germany and a draw with Scotland. If they can keep up that kind of form then they can at least avoid the defeat that would send them into the play-offs. Ireland will have had their confidence boosted by that win over Germany but their away form is a bit patchy. They drew in Germany but lost to Scotland. At least they have seen off the threat of Scotland and at least have a play-off place. I see this being a really tense game but feel Poland can use their home advantage to see off any chance of Ireland getting a win. A draw looks the most likely result.
