The UEFA Women’s Champions League has reached the quarter-final stages, and in one of the most eagerly-anticipated matches of the week, we will see PSG welcome Wolfsburg to Parc des Princes for the first of two legs on Wednesday evening. The hosts are currently in second place in their domestic league with 42 points in 16 matches, just one point behind the current leaders Lyon and nine clear of Paris FC in third. PSG finished in second place in Group A behind Chelsea, with 10 points in their six matches and a record of three wins, one draw, and two losses. PSG’s last loss came in the final match in the group stages, but since then, they’ve gone nine matches undefeated in all competitions, including eight wins and one draw. Having scored 12 goals in their last five matches, PSG will be confident that they will be able to register a goal or two in this one to carry into the second leg in a week's time. 

Wolfsburg comes into this match off the back of a romping 5-0 win against Turbine Potsdam in their last league match, which saw them maintain their spot at the top of the Frauen Bundesliga table. They are now on 42 points after 15 matches, two points clear of Bayern Munich in second and seven clear of the rest. Wolfsburg was one of only two sides, along with Chelsea, that got through the group stages unbeaten, ending with 14 points in six matches, including four wins and two draws. Over those six group-stage matches, Wolfsburg managed to find the net on 19 occasions while only allowing five at the other end. The visitors have only been beaten once in their last eight matches in all competitions and come into this one on a two-match winning run, in which they scored nine goals. The last time these sides met was back in 2015 in the knockout stages of this competition, where Wolfsburg won the second match but was ultimately beaten by PSG on aggregate over the two legs.
