After a pulsating first leg in Lyon, Paris St. Germain Women will face their nemesis Lyon Women for a place in the Champions League Final against either Chelsea Women or Barcelona Women. Things looked superb for PSG in that first leg after Marie-Antoinette Katoto’s quick-fire double had put them 2-0 ahead. They still led with ten minutes to go, but Lyon staged a superb comeback with three goals in six minutes from Kadidiatou Diani, Melchie Dumornay and Amel Majri to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 first leg win. The home side will therefore start the game as the big underdogs against a Lyon team that have drawn one and won 20 of their 21 Ligue One games this season. 

Heading into the second leg, Lyon warmed up with a midweek 2-1 home victory over Guingamp, while Paris St. Germain were held 1-1 in their local derby with Paris FC. Lyon topped Group B comfortably, with four wins, two draws and 25 goals in their group, ostensibly due to two remarkable away wins, 9-0 at Slavia Prague and 7-0 at St. Polten.They then defeated Benfica 6-2 on aggregate to reach the semi-finals. Paris St. Germain topped their group with 10 points but only on goal-difference from Ajax. They then defeated Swedes Hacken 5-1 on aggregate to earn a shot for a place in the Champions League final against their long standing Ligue One rivals.
