Palmeiras have had some mixed results of late but rallied well to get a 2-0 win away at Cerro Porteno in the last sixteen of the Copa Libertadores. They are currently sixth in Serie A and have a strong home league record with five wins, two draws, one defeat and only seven goals conceded. Palmerias have gone four league and cup games without conceding a goal and have three wins in their last four home league matches. With just one home league loss in the last 14, they have every reason to be confident that they can get three points from this game.

Vasco da Gama are down in 13th place in the table and only a point above the relegation zone. Away form has been letting them down this season with only three points from six on the road and they are still looking fo their first away win of the season.  Just five goals scored on their travels and three of their last four away league matches have ended in defeat, though they did manage to get a point at league leaders Flamengo earlier in the season. This looks booked for a home win for Palmeiras.
