Pablo Carreño-Busta vs Matteo Berrettini Prediction & Betting Tips - Montreal, Canada

Matteo Berrettiini is the 11th seed for the Montreal Masters. He takes on unseeded Pablo Carreno Busta in the first round. Unseeded opposition also awaits in the second round with either Fabio Fognini or Holger Rune to be faced. Berrettini is world ranked 14th but that's mainly because of his losing all the points earned when reaching the Wimbledon final last year. 2022 has been a stop-start year for the Italian. It began with a run to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, where he beat Busta in straight sets (best of five). Berrettini was injured in March and didn't play for the next three months. When he did return, the Italian won grass court tournaments in Stuttgart and at Queen's Club. He didn't play at Wimbledon though after contracting COVID.-19. Back fit again, he's played one tournament since June and that saw him lose to Casper Ruud in the final of the Gstaad clay court event after winning the first set.

Pablo Carreno Busta is the world number 23 but was as high as 16th in February. It took him until April to get past the last 16 of a singles tournament. On his preferred clay, he made it all the way to the final in Barcelona, losing to Carlos Alcarez in straight sets. He didn't build on that though and lost four of his next five matches, all on clay. A quarter final was reached in Halle but then he lost to Antoine Bellier in Mallorca, who was ranked 303rd at the time. He had to retire injured in the second round at Wimbledon but back on clay, got to the last four in Bastad and then the last 16 in Hamburg. This is a hard court match and it's Berrettini who can get the win here.
