Eight-time Women’s Champions League winners Lyon Women host Paris St. Germain Women in an all-French Champions League semi-final first leg. A place in the final against either Barcelona or Chelsea lies in wait for either of the two teams. Lyon Women top Feminine Division One, winning 19 of 20 games, drawing the other against today’s opponents. In the Champions League they have been imperious, topping their group with five wins and two draws in their six games (scoring 25 goals in the process) and then winning both legs in the quarter-finals against Benfica for a 6-2 aggregate victory. They warmed up for this game with a thumping 6-1 win away to Saint-Etienne Women and they have scored 23 goals, conceding two in their last five Feminine Division One games.

Paris St Germain Women will be hoping that fourth time lucky will be the case in this Champions League tie. PSG lost to Lyon in the French Women’s Season-Opening Super Cup 2-0, and then a few weeks later, were beaten 1-0 at home by Lyon once again.
