The UEFA Women’s Champions League has reached the quarter-final stages, and in one of the most anticipated matches of the round, we will see Chelsea travel to the Groupama Stadium to take on Lyon in the first of two legs on Wednesday evening. Chelsea currently sits atop the Women’s Super League table with 37 points in 14 matches, two points ahead of Manchester United in second with a game in hand. The visitors qualified in first place in Group A of this tournament and went unbeaten in their six group matches, winning five and drawing just one. Olympique Lyonnais is in some incredible form themselves, and like their opponents, lead their domestic league with a tally of 43 points in 16 matches, one point ahead of PSG in second. Lyon won their last match 2-0 against Fleury 91 last Friday and come into this match 11 games unbeaten, winning 10 and drawing just one. Lyon finished second in Group C behind Arsenal with 11 points in six matches, including three wins, two draws, and a loss, scoring 10 goals in that time while conceding six. Lyon has only lost one of their last 20 matches in all competitions, dating back to October 2022. These sides have met three times in the past, and Lyon is unbeaten so far with two wins and a draw.
