It's looking more like ‘Mission Impossible’ for Norwich City than ‘The Great Escape.’ They remain bottom of the Premier League and simply have to beat16th placed West Ham United. Tuesday saw the Canaries lose 2-1 at Watford, despite taking an early lead. That made it six straight losses in the Premier League and you have to go back to February for their last win. Norwich are now ten points from safety, virtually 11 because of their inferior goal difference. A loss in this game will confirm their relegation but it’ll take a miracle to avoid that fate. They have lost their last three home league fixtures with not a goal in sight.

West Ham United picked up a point at Newcastle United in their last away league game. That ended a run of seven successive away league defeats. They led that game twice but a point took them further away from the relegation zone. Wednesday though saw them beaten 1-0 at home by Burnley and leaving them four points clear of the bottom three at the end of the evening. Bournemouth and Aston Vila still have to play before this match and a win for either would worry West Ham.. With games against Norwich and Aston Villa, they should have enough to stay in the Premier League but it's not been the season they wanted. If they can rediscover their scoring form against the poor Norwich defence, they can get a win that will take them even closer surviving and relegate Norwich.
