Norwich City could seal promotion back to the Premier League this weekend, when they host fellow promotion hopefuls, Bournemouth, at Carrow Road on Saturday. They go to this game having posted 90 points and top the standings, 19 points above fifth placed Bournemouth. Both sides were relegated from the Premier League at the close of last season and for Norwich, this has been a very good campaign; their place is well deserved. With fourth placed Brentford playing much earlier, Norwich can secure promotion even before kicking a ball (if Brentford drops points). A straightforward way would be for Norwich to just beat Bournemouth, and with a run of 13 matches unbeaten, it looks like a possible mission. In the 13 matches, Norwich have won 11. They had a little slump in two draws with Blackburn Rovers and Preston but they recovered in style with a 7-0 win over Huddersfield and 1-0 against Derby County in the most recent game. The Canaries have been great at home, and go here unbeaten in 18, with 13 wins. They’ve kept four clean sheets in the last five Championship matches at home.

Bournemouth’s push for promotion comes a bit late, which means an automatic promotion slot may be a target too high. They are 11 points below second place and are better off eyeing the playoffs. A sharp attack should be able to deliver their targets for now, having scored two or more goals in their last six Championship matches and with five straight wins in the league. In their last meeting with a top six side, they beat Swansea 3-0 and in their September meeting with Norwich they won 1-0, so they’re capable of holding their own. One thing they’ll be looking to improve on is the defence, having kept just two clean sheets in the last five matches. Both sides have scored in four of their last five Championship matches away from home and they are unbeaten in four away Championship matches.
