League Two Northampton Town host Championship side Derby County in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The home side had to beat non-league Chippenham Town and Notts County to reach the third round. Then they had a tougher task as they went to League One Burton Albion. They stormed their way to a 3-0 first half lead and eventually won the game 4-2. Northampton are currently sixth in League Two and only a couple of points behind the final automatic play-off place. They come into this game unbeaten in their last five league matches (six if avoiding defeat against Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening) and have won eight of their last nine at home.
Derby County are 15th in the Championship and eight points behind the play-off positions. That might change though with a possible points deduction being threatened over their financial affairs. Derby have shown a great deal of improvement of late, especially since the arrival iin the team of Wayne Rooney. Derby had gone seven games without a win but have now won four out of five. A form guide for the last five league games has them in third place. Derby knocked out Premier League side Crystal Palace in the third round Three of their last four away games in this competition have been won. They can make it four with a narrow win in this match.
