Tottenham go into their match with Newcastle on a high this Wednesday after victory in the North London derby. Spurs are eigth in the table, a spot that could be high enough to qualify for the Europa League depending on how other competitions pan out. There is faint hope that they could qualify for the Champions League if they win the rest of their matches and other results go their way. With them being seven points behind Leicester (fourth) with only three games to go, it is highly unlikely. Newcastle come into this game licking their wounds from 13th place after two consecutive defeats in the league. Steve Bruce's side are destined to finish midtable as the European spots are too far away and they're safely clear of relegation. Both of the aforementioned defeats for the Magpies came away from home, which isn't a surprise as they are a much stronger outfit at home. Newcastle are unbeaten in their last six league matches at home and kept clean sheets in four of those outings. That stat doesn't bode well for shot-shy travellers. 

While Spurs picked up a big win over Arsenal on Sunday, that was at home. Away from home, they're significantly weaker and they have failed to win five of their last six away matches. Their inability to construct effective attacks away from home was exposed by the fact that they failed to register a shot on target in their last away game, a goalless draw against Bournemouth. They have only scored more than once in one of their last six away matches. Recent meetings between these teams have been low-scoring with four of the last five featuring fewer than 2.5 goals.
