The New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers will face off in Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference final at what is sure to be a deafening MSG on Wednesday night. The winner of this series will face either OKC or the Timberwolves in the NBA Finals. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

The Knicks are back in the Eastern Conference Final for just the second time this century and will be out for revenge, as it was this opponent that knocked them out of the semis last year. 

New York capitalised on the injury to Jayson Tatum to beat the Boston Celtics in the last round 4-2, with Jalen Brunson leading the team with 26.2 points and 7.5 assists per game. 

Karl-Anthony Towns was a colossus on the boards against Boston, grabbing 12.7 RPG, while Mikal Bridges came alive in the series and produced several big defensive plays.

While the Knicks beat the Pacers 2-1 in the regular season series, you cannot draw too many conclusions from that, as Indiana’s play improved immensely later in the season. 

After starting the campaign 9-14, the Pacers closed the season with a 41-18 record, which bumps up to 49-20 if you include their Playoff series against the Bucks and Cavaliers. 

Tyrese Haliburton is the driving force, but the Pacers' biggest strength is their depth, as almost their entire roster has made contributions throughout the Playoffs so far.
