Nantes are 15th in Ligue 1 and seven points above the relegation zone. They probably need one more win to get themselves safe but Nantes come into this game in poor form. Nantes have lost their last four league games and were also knocked out of the French Cup by PSG. They were beaten 1-0 at Toulouse in their most recent game and it didn't help having to play the last 73 minutes of the game with only ten men after a sending off. Nantes are probably still having nightmares over their last home game against second-placed Lille. They led 2-0 after 57 minutes but by the 69th were 3-2 down and then missed a penalty with seven minutes to go. Home form has seen them only win one of their last five games with seven goals conceded in the last three.

Lyon are third in the table and that would be enough to get them into the Champions League play-off round. To avoid an early start to the season, they need to finish in the top two and are five points behind Lille. They lost ground at the weekend when losing 3-1 at home to Dijon who are in the relegation zone. Lyon took a first minute lead in that game but were 2-1 down six minutes later! That was their second straight defeat after losing at home to Rennes in the French Cup semi-final. They had been unbeaten in four league games before the loss at the weekend and on their travels have lost four of their 15 games. Lyon aren't in top form but should have enough to get a win in this game.
