Mura were only founded nine years ago and have never played in the group stages of any European competition. The Slovenian club host Sturm Graz from Austria in the play-off round of the Europa League. Mura began the season in the Champions League but after beating Shkendija, were beaten by Ludogorets Razgrad. Transferred into the Europa League they knocked out Zalgiris, being held 0-0 at home, before winning the away leg 1-0. This is their first time in a play-off round and know that even if they lose this tie, they'll go into the group stages of the new Europa Conference League, It seems to take a lot to be knocked out of European competition these days. Mura aren't in the best of form at present with only two points from their first four league games of the new season. All a bit frustrating for them as they have led in three of their four matches. Home form has seen them draw three and lose one of their last four games with only one goal scored.

Sturm Graz haven't made it through to the group stages of the Europa League since the 2011/12 season. This is their first time in a play-off round since that season ten years ago but no games have had to be played to get to this stage. They are currently second in the Austrian Bundesliga, three points behind leaders Red Bull Salzburg. Sturm Graz lost their first league game to Salzburg but since then have won three in a row with ten goals scored. They are unbeaten in their last seven competitive away games and also won a friendly against Udinese. They are scoring goals aplenty and can get an away win in this game.
