Solihull Moors from the English National League bid to knock out another EFL team. The non-leaguers are ninth in their league, only a point behind the promotion play-offs but with a game in hand. This game will be their first since November 11, so they should be nice and fresh. The first round saw them go to League Two Scunthorpe United and win 3-2. Two of their goals were penalties scored by Stephen Gleeson. Solihull have won for of their seven league games this season, conceding just five goals. That’s the best defensive record in the National League. Two FA Cup ties this season has seen them sore seven goals. The win over Scunthorpe continued their good run against league clubs in this competition. They previously drew with Blackpool, the loss in the replay was after extra time. The defeat is their only loss in their last seven away FA Cup ties, the other six all being won. They have strong form coming into this game with six of their last eight league and cup games being won, with just one loss.

Morecambe will be more confident of winning this tie than earlier in the season. They have been down the bottom of League Two for most of the season but are now up 14th. Tuesday saw them lose 2-1 at Salford City. That ended a run of six league and cup games without defeat, though three of their last four League Two fixtures have ended in draws.  This is their second straight FA Cup tie against non-league opposition. Round one saw them win 1-0 at Maldon & Tiptree. Since being promoted to the EFL, Morecambe have never reached the FA Cup third round. They last got that far in 2003 when still a non-league club. Over the past eight years, only two of their last 13 FA Cup ties have been won and just one of the last nine played over the past 12 years. A double chance bet on Solihull to win or draw after 90 minutes (no replays remember) is the suggested wager.
