Montpellier welcomes PSG to the Stade de la Mosson for this penultimate round match in the French Ligue 1. The home team are in 13th position with 43 points while the visitors have already been crowned league champions. Montpellier are in the midst of a horror run and have not won in their last seven matches with five defeats and two draws. Their last league win was in March when they beat Bordeaux in an away match. Montpellier’s home form has not been much better as they have lost three and drawn three of their last six matches. Their poor season can be mainly attributed to their porous defence which has conceded 55 goals. This is the worst defensive record amongst the top 15 teams on the table with only teams from 16th position and below conceding more goals.

PSG are going through a mini win drought themselves and they have drawn their last three league matches. They have led in two of the matches only to concede late in the match and share the points. There may be complacency creeping into their game as they have the title all sewn up. PSG have had a draw and two wins in their last three away matches which ended a run of four consecutive losses on the road across all competitions. They have not had the best away record this season, with second placed  Marseille picking up seven more points than them on the road this season. PSG have won their last six matches against Montpellier with the last defeat against them coming in 2019.
