Hungary will seek to keep their winning start to the 2024 Euro Qualifiers intact when they travel to play Montenegro on Saturday. Both teams are tied on three points each in Group G with second-placed Hungary edging their hosts in third by goal difference. Montenegro began their qualifying campaign on the right note as they defeated Bulgaria by a solitary goal away from home. They however could not replicate the result when they returned home to play Serbia in round two. Miodrag Radulovic’s charges lost 2-0 against the Serbs who top the group. The win over Bulgaria is their only victory in their last six matches. The Brave Falcons have been on the receiving end four times in this period. They will need to be at their best here to win. Montenegro have not lost to Hungary in the previous three encounters. They won the last matchup, a friendly, 2-1 in 2019.

Hungary have played one match in Group G which was a convincing 3-0 success over Bulgaria at home. This extended their unbeaten run to four matches with three of those ending in victory. Marco Rossi’s charges are favourites alongside Serbia to qualify from the group and will seek to prove this by maintaining their 100% start. After missing 10 straight Euro tournaments from 1976 to 2012, Nemzeti Tizenegy have participated in the last two continental showpieces. Having not defeated Montenegro in three encounters now, Hungary will be confident of a win given their current form.
