Monaco lead Sparta Prague 2-0 in their third qualifying round Champions League tie and will be looking to finish the job when they welcome the Czech Republic side in France. Aurelien Tchouameni and Kevin Volland scored the goals that secured a first leg advantage for Monaco away from home. Monaco however looked a bit rusty in their Ligue 1 opener as they lost an early lead to draw 1-1 with Nantes. Their defensive form will be in focus again when the Czech side comes visiting, with Monaco having just three clean sheets in 10 matches. At home, the French side has no clean sheet in five matches and has failed to score in one while three matches have produced over 2.5 goals. They’ve been out of the Champions League for three seasons and will hope to go all the way to the group stages this time.

Sparta Prague are dominant back at home, with three wins in their opening three games in the league. This is the dominance they will need to carry to Europe, and especially after their home loss in this tie. In the previous round of the Champions League, they lost away to Rapid Vienna, but recovered at home, this time they will need to recover away from home and at a much tougher venue. Four wins in their last five matches should give Sparta Prague the needed confidence and they will need a replication of the defending that has served them three clean sheets in four matches. They have scored two or more goals in four of their last five matches and the only time they failed to was in the first leg loss in this tie. Sparta Prague have two losses in the last three away matches and all their last five away games have produced over 2.5 goals.
