Monaco and Strasbourg will both seek to enhance their hopes for European football when they meet on Saturday in Ligue 1. Monaco plays host, looking to consolidate second spot as Strasbourg target staying in the top six. With five matches remaining, here’s our preview and prediction.

The league title is already settled, and all that remains is jostling for positions in European football. This is so delicately balanced that second place and sixth are only separated by three points.

In a massive way, Monaco recovered from their 2-1 defeat at Brest to beat Marseille 3-0 in their last outing. At home, Monaco are on six straight wins in the league.

Strasbourg are having a great season and have shown they have what it takes to challenge for a place in Europe. Currently placed sixth, they know just how important a win here will be.

The visitors suffered a late disappointment last time out, conceding in stoppage time to draw 2-2 with Nice at home. That result denied Strasbourg a sixth straight win, but they remain unbeaten in the last nine outings.

Things have also clicked well for Le Racing away from home of late. They will be seeking a fifth straight win on the road here. In each of the four away victories, they kept clean sheets.
