Both of these sides were losing semi-finalists in the 2016/17 Champions League but had a disappointing time last season. Monaco finished fourth in their group and Atletico Madrid third, but at least the Spanish side went on to win the Europa League. Monaco have made a slow start to their Ligue 1 campaign with just one win in their first five games and they are only a few places above the relegation zone with just five points. After winning their first game of the season 3-1 at Nantes they have gone four games without a win drawing with Lille and losing to Marseille. They have lost their last four home games in the Champions League and conceded 11 points in the process. 

Atletico Madrid are having problems in La Liga this season with only five points from their first four league games. Not many goals being scored in their games with just three for Atletico and four conceded. Their only league win has been a 1-0 home win over Rayo Vallecano. Last season saw them draw all three of their away games in the Champions League but they could only finish third behind Roma and Chelsea. They have only lost two of their last nine away games in this competition. The tip here is for a narrow away win for the Spanish side.
