Barangay Ginebra will look to bounce back from Sunday’s setback when they face Meralco in PBA Governors' Cup Group B at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The Gin Kings have won each of the last seven Governors' Cup meetings between the sides, hence our prediction going against the Bolts.
Barangay Ginebra opened their 2026 PBA Governors' Cup campaign with a shock three-point defeat to Phoenix Fuel Masters. They, however, bounced back in their second fixture, demolishing Blackwater Bossing 115–85.
The reigning PBA champions failed to build on that victory in their most recent outing on Sunday, losing 110–99 to Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Nevertheless, they will be confident of returning to winning ways in this clash, having avoided back-to-back defeats in their last 29 games since their 4–2 series defeat to San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Cup semifinals in January 2026.
Meralco Bolts fell by just one point to Phoenix Fuel Masters in their 2026 PBA Governors' Cup opener and then bounced back with back-to-back wins against Rain or Shine and Blackwater in their following two games.
