Manchester United will look to rise from their FA Cup shocker when they return their focus to the Premier League, and the top four race this Wednesday as they host West Ham United. Ahead of this league clash, fifth place United have 62 points while West Ham United, who are placed 15th, have 37 points. Manchester United were handed a 3-1 beating by Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final on Sunday, reducing their prospects of winning any silverware in the season. They still have the Europa League to play for though and are fighting for a top four finish. With Leicester City’s weekend loss, United will want to take advantage, as a win will see them rise to third, at least until Chelsea plays Liverpool later the same day. The loss at Wembley was the first for United since football resumed after lockdown; United went to the Chelsea game unbeaten in 12 matches and will feel playing at home offers a better chance at returning to winning ways. They have no loss in the last six home league matches and have scored two goals or more in the last five, though they have conceded twice in each of their last two matches. In their 18 home matches this season, United have lost just twice – to Burnley and Crystal Palace and 10 of their 17 wins in the season have come at home, giving them a 56% winning rate at home. West Ham on the other hand, need one point in their remaining two matches to secure survival. They are six points clear of the drop and with a better goal difference but with Aston Villa still having two matches to play, they’ll want to be sure no miracles happen. Villa host Arsenal on Tuesday evening and if they fail to win, then the Hammers will be safe. In their last five matches, West Ham have done their survival chances a huge boost, with wins over Chelsea, Norwich and Watford and will look to seal it at Old Trafford if required. Having beaten United 2-0 earlier in the season, and with two wins in the last three meetings, they will feel capable of pulling this upset. Their away form is however, not very impressive; this season, they have just four wins in the 18 away league matches they have played. Before beating Norwich in their last away league match, they had earne just one point from eight away matches. They have four clean sheets in away league matches and failed to score in eight. In their last five matches, Michail Antonio has scored seven goals and will once again be a key man here.
