Manchester United boosted their chances of a top four finish when winning at Chelsea on Monday. They kick off the weekend in seventh place and attempt to get three more points against Watford who are 19th. United are undefeated in their last five league and cup games, following up Monday's win with a draw at Clubb Brugge in the Europa League. Going into that game at Chelsea, United had gone three league matches without a victory so that was a welcome win. United are now only three points behind fourth place and this is a vital match for them. They have failed to score in their last two home league games and after this match, host Manchester City. Of their final six home league fixtures, only this and the visit of Sheffield United are against sides in the top six.

Watford are one from bottom but just a point from safety. The improved form that was shown after the arrival of Nigel Pearson as manager has evaporated. Watford have only earned two points from their last four league matches and their upcoming fixture list is not a promising one. A trip to Old Trafford is followed by home games against Liverpool and Leicester. Unless their form suddenly improves, their relegation worries are going to keep growing. Watford have only won one of their last seven away league matches. That was away at struggling Bournemouth and this is going to be a lot tougher. Back United to get the home win.
