Both of these sides are on 25 points with Manchester United in eight, a place above their opponents Newcastle United. The home side come into this game hoping to bounce back after Sunday’s defeat at Watford. They are now seven points behind the final Champions League place. Home form has been good though with three wins in the last four league and cup games and no defeats in the last 12 since losing to Crystal Palace. It’s just their inconsistency that is so frustrating with them this season. Despite all that though, they are in the Europa League last 32 and the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

Newcastle fans aren’t that accustomed to being in the top ten at Christmas. With the arrival of Steve Bruce and another slow start to the season, they were expecting another season just avoiding relegation. Form has been much better in recent weeks though with three league wins in the last four matches. The only loss was away at Burnley and they come into this game having been defeated in five of their last seven matches. With their inconsistent away form, the tip here is for a home win.
