As is the case with most teams in this competition, Liverpool have been playing weakened line-ups as their World Cup stars take time off. They lost their opening game 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund but then won their second 2-1 against fellow Premier League side Manchester City. They did have two World Cup players on the bench and it was Mane and Salah who came on and scored the goals that gave them victory with Mane scoring a 94th minute winner. Both players only took part in the group stages so have had a decent rest already so may play longer in this game as the new season approaches. Despite the win over City, Liverpool can't win the International Champions Cup but two wins over the Manchester clubs won't do their confidence any harm.

Manchester United have won their first match in this competition beating AC Milan 9-8 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Sanchez scored their goal after just 12 minutes but Suso equalized for the Italians three minutes later. Again they played a side that was totally devoid of World Cup players and that'll be the case for this match. Their team doesn't look as strong as Liverpool's, especially with the possibillty of Salah and Sane coming on, so go for a Liverpool win here.
