The race for the Premier League title is all but over, however there is still plenty of life left in the battle to finish second. Manchester United can give their hopes of making it a Manchester 1-2 with a home win over Liverpool. United start the wekend in second place two points ahead of their opponents in this Saturday lunchtime game. A win takes them five clear and that'll take some catching by Liverpool. Jose Mourinho's men didn't look as if they were going to reclaim second place when going 2-0 down at Crystal Palace on Monday. They eventually fought back to get a 3-2 win but if Palace can put two past them, then Salah, Firmino and Mane must fancy their chances.  United have won 11 out of their 14 home league games this season and last lost at home to a team not called Manchester City on January 23, 2016 when defeated by Southampton, a game in which both Van Dijk and Mane played. There have been 62 home league and cup games since that match with just two losses to Manchester City but that record faces a serious threat this weekend. United have gone six home league games unbeaten but two have ended in draws. They can have their off-moments and will need to be totally on this game here. Liverpool will move into second with a win and unlike their opponents don't have a midweek Champions League game to worry about. They are unbeaten in their last five league games since a surprise loss at resurgent Swansea City but that's the only loss in their last nine away league games. It'll be interesting to see the tactics employed by Mourinho for this game. He was criticised for parking the bus at Anfield and a few times his side have been described as dull, even at Old Trafford. The last four games between these two sides have ended in draws, the bet here is for that figure to reach five with another stalemate.
