This could be an important weekend in Manchester United's bid to finish second in the Premier League. They start the weekend in that position and host Brighton and Hove Albion who are 16th in the table. United will hope for a favour from Manchester City who travel to third placed Leicester City. If they can beat Leicester, then a win here for United will take them four points clear in second but still miles behind the league leaders. United are unbeaten in their last nine league games with only one loss in 22. Despite that a form guide for the last 20 league matches has them second, 12 points behind Manchester City. Home form has one loss in ten and with three of the last four won.

Brighton and Hove Albion come into this game chasing a third straight Premier League win. They tend to have spurts of success and then another poor run. Brighton had a 3-0 home win over Newcastle last time out and are now six points clear of the relegation zone. They'll hope that Newcastle and Fulham (particularly the latter) have poor results earlier in the day. Brighton have won three of their last five away league matches. They go and win at Liverpool and Leeds but only get a point from trips to West Brom and Fulham. Back United to get the home win here.
