The matches are starting to pile up now for Manchester United, and in their first of two league games this matchweek, they will welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford for a Saturday evening kick-off in the English Premier League. Eric ten Hag’s men booked their place in the final of the EFL Cup Final after beating Nottingham Forest 5-0 on aggregate, setting up a showdown against Newcastle for their first piece of silverware since the 2017/18 season under Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils are in fourth place in the league, with 39 points in 20 matches, six behind their Manchester rivals in second and three clear of Spurs with a game in hand. Manchester United was on a six-match unbeaten run before losing their last league match 3-2 to Arsenal, which may have dampened their hopes of a title run this season. After losing their first home match this season, United has gone on an eight-match unbeaten streak at Old Trafford with seven wins and a draw. They will be looking to extend that run but know that Crystal Palace can be difficult to overcome, as they showed in the reverse fixture last month.

Crystal Palace has been resilient in their last few matches but has struggled to turn their efforts into three points too many times already this season. Their away record this term could use improving, recording just two wins in nine matches, along with three draws and four losses. The visitors have not taken any points in their last two visits to Old Trafford and will likely find it difficult in this one as well.
