Tottenham Hotspur are set for another tough outing when they travel to Manchester City for their next league match. A massive 14 points separate these two, with table topping City on 50 points and Spurs, placed eighth, having 36 points. City are coming from a 3-1 win over Swansea in the FA Cup, their 15th straight win and 22nd unbeaten match. They have scored two or more goals in nine of the last 10 matches, with eight clean sheets in the last 11. City are vying for a quadruple this season and seem to be in good health for that. They’re set to take on Spurs in the League Cup final but before that the focus will be on this league game. City haven’t won in their last three matches against Spurs, losing the last two, having earlier drawn. They are however in a better form at the moment, with five straight league wins at home, and eight wins in the last 10 at their backyard. Also, City haven’t conceded a goal in the last five home league matches. They are unbeaten in their last 10 league games at home, winning eight. In their last league match, City thrashed Liverpool 4-1, with on-form Ilkay Gundogan scoring twice – his fourth and fifth goals in the last five league matches. The German is now City’s top scorer in the league, with nine goals and the team has the best defence in the league, having conceded 14 goals.

Tottenham have been shambolic in their recent matches, and go to this game having lost 5-4 at Everton in the FA Cup. That defeat was the fourth in Tottenham’s last five matches and for a Jose Mourninho team that’s really catastrophic. Here we will have the two best defences in the league facing off; Spurs are second to City, having conceded 22 goals. However, they have the least wins (10) in the top nine and just one clean sheet in the last eight matches. Harry Kane’s return from injury boosted the team in the win over West Bromwich Albion and he did come from the bench to score against Everton as well. Spurs have now scored in 13 of their last 16 matches but a run of three losses in the last four league matches and two clean sheets in 11 leaves them in a bad position. Away from home, they have one win in six league matches. In that run, out of a possible 18 points, they have collected six, and just one clean sheet.
