Manchester City and Norwich City opened their league campaigns with losses, and will both be seeking three points in Week 2 of Premier League action. City hosts newly promoted Norwich who fell 3-0 to Liverpool as they look to recover from a 1-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. City had a number of starters on the bench against Tottenham, which was expected after a busy summer with international competitions. A number of them will be easing back into the starting team, which is an assurance of a stronger team against Norwich. Like it was against Spurs, Manchester City are expected to dominate possession, just that this time they will be expected to make use of it and having lost back to back should be enough to push them here. City haven’t kept a clean sheet in three matches and go here with three losses in their last five league games at home. Six of City’s 12 goals in the last five league matches have come in the second half, and they’ve conceded seven of eight in the last five matches in the second half.

Norwich were never expected to start strongly on their Premier League return, with their three opening games being against teams that finished in the top five. This is just the second after the big loss to Liverpool, and Leicester City lies in wait on Week 3. They meet a City side really in need of a win to bounce back after a run of top losses – to Chelsea in the Champions League, Leicester City in the Community Shield and Tottenham recently. Norwich have lost one of their best players, Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa and a tough start to the season will not help in their confidence. They wrapped up their preseason with a 3-0 loss to Newcastle before starting the season with a loss by the same margin to Liverpool and they should start getting used to tough matches now. They’ve conceded four second half goals in their last five competitive matches and scored six in the second half in the same five matches. With just one win in five meetings with City, Norwich are aptly the underdogs here.
