Manchester City gave the perfect response to their defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur and now they have a big one - a home game in the Premier League against arch rivals Manchester United. City head into the game top of the league standings on 66 points while United are fourth on 47 points. Two straight wins after the shock loss to Spurs are a reminder of how fast City can move on after a defeat but they are also great with lengthy winning runs. Dropping points in a draw with Southampton, then Tottenham has seen their lead cut to just six points by Liverpool, and City can’t afford more slip ups.
