Manchester City are sure to keep their place at the top of the league standings courtesy of their win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. They will be looking to prolong their stay there when they welcome Leeds United. Ahead of the game, City are on 38 points while Leeds United have 16 points in 15th place. City labored through a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers but that was expected, given Wolves’ defending this season. City have now won each of their last six matches in the league, and in the last 10, they have just one loss. In eight of their last 10 league matches, they’ve scored two or more and failed to score in one of the 10 matches.
The last time Leeds United visited the Etihad Stadium, they won 2-1. Right now they aren’t in that shape and the fact that they will miss two key players makes it harder. Patrick Bamford returned a week ago, scored and got injured in the celebration while Kalvin Philips is out for the long term. They both missed the 3-2 loss to Chelsea and Marcelo Bielsa has to continue improvising, to see that they get something from this game. For the third time in five matches, Leeds led but dropped points, in the loss to Chelsea. In their last 10 matches, Leeds have managed just two wins. Their only away win in the eight league matches they’ve played, came against bottom placed Norwich.
