Borussia Dortmund suffered a big blow in their chase for a Champions League slot in the Bundesliga after suffering a home loss to Eintracht Frankfurt. Now they have to quickly dust themselves for the trip to Manchester City for their Champions League quarter final clash on Tuesday. Manchester City will be excited by their weekend gains, having beaten Leicester City 2-0 for their fifth straight win, and 26th victory in 27 matches. With just one loss in 34 matches across all competitions, City remains in contention for four different competitions and seem to have wrapped up the Premier League after their Saturday win. They go to this Champions League game having set four straight clean sheets and scored two or more goals in their last five matches. City will have a lot of fresh legs too for this game, having rested most top players against Leicester. Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Cancelo, John Stones, Ferran Torres, Bernardo Silva and Oleksandr Zinchenko didn’t feature at all, while Raheem Sterling was a late inclusion and provided an assist. City have been among the best performers in the Champions League this season and going here they haven’t lost a game this season, winning seven of the eight played. They have four clean sheets in the last 17 matches across all competitions too. Meanwhile, an attack inspired by Haaland has seen the team score two goals in four of the last five matches. In Champions League action, Dortmund are unbeaten in the last seven matches, winning five but keeping no clean sheet in the last four. They conceded two goals in their last game, against Sevilla, drawing 2-2 after having taken a 2-0 lead and they won’t be very glad with that performance. Even though they have three straight wins in their away matches in this competition, the teams they’ve faced are nothing close to City in terms of strength.
