Manchester City vs Aston Villa WFC Prediction & Betting Tips - Women's Super League

Third placed Manchester City can move up to second in the Women's Super League with a home win over Aston Villa. City will want some revenge after their male counterparts lost to Villa in the Premier League on Wednesday. They begin this game six points behind leaders Chelsea after the first eight games of the new league season. November was a mixed month for them with successive league defeats at Arsenal and then surprisingly being beaten at home by Brighton and Hove Albion. Since then though they have won 3-1 at local rivals Manchester United and then thrashing Tottenham 7-0 at home. Their home form in the Women's Super League this season has produced two wins, a draw and that loss to Brighton. That league loss is the only one they've suffered in their last 23 home Women's Super League games. The run began with a 5-0 home win over Aston Villa in November 2021. 

At the start of this year, Villa did get an away 1-1 draw at City and a repeat of that would delight them this weekend. They are down in tenth place with only a couple of teams below them in the table. Just two points separate them from bottom-of-the-table (the only relegation place) Bristol City. Only two league wins have been achieved this season but they came in successive matches played in November. They were important victories as the wins came against Bristol City and West Ham United, the two clubs below them in the table. Their last fixture saw them lose 2-1 at home to Everton. Away league form has seen them win two and lose two. We believe Manchester City can get the win and lead at both half and full time.
