Lyon vs Nice Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

This may be the last day of the French league season but there's still a lot to play for. PSG wrapped up the league title weeks ago but whcih other sides qualify for the Champions League and Europa League are yet to be confirmed. Lyon start the game in third place which gets them into the Champions League play-off round but are only two points behind second-placed Monaco and a place in the group stages. However, Lyon are only a point ahead of Marseille and could drop down to the Europa League if they fail to win this match  It's a nervous time for the visitors too with Nice in sixth but only two points clear of Bordeaux who are away to bottom of the table Metz, so Nice could lose their Europa League place. Hardly a final day game with no importance attached to it. Lyon's Champions League qualification hopes suffered a blow last week when losing 3-2 at Strasbourg despite leading going into the 88th minute. Before that they had won seven league games in a row and have scored at least twice in their last nine league and cup games. Home form has seen them win the last five league games without conceding a goal and just one more big push will get them that Champions League place.

Nice will qualify for the Europa League if they win this game but a draw might not even be enough if Bordeaux get a big win at Metz.  They had only won one of their last five league games before victory against Caen last week. Their away form isn't that strong with seven league defeats and only five wins and have only won two of their last ten away league matches. It's going to be a worrying afternoon for both teams but Lyon can get the home win and Nice will be quickly checking the Bordeaux result.
