Lyon's Champions League campaign ended on Wednesday evening when losing away at Barcelona. They now need to qualify for next season's tournament via their end position in Ligue 1. Currently they occupy the final Champions League qualification place with a three-point lead over Marseille. Three points for Lyon at home to Montpellier, could see them extend that gap to six points as Marseille travel to PSG this weekend. Lyon have only lost one of their last four league games and at home have won four of the last five in Ligue 1.

Montpellier would also be glad to see Marseille lose this weekend. They are seventh in the table and five points behind the Europa League qualifying position. The problem is Montpellier have only won one of their last five league games and just two of the last 13. They dropped vital points last weekend when 2-0 up at home inside 16 minutes to Angers, still two goals ahead with ten minutes to go and ended up conceding a 92nd minute equaliser. Only one of their last seven away league games have been won and this looks booked for a Lyon home victory.
