Luton Town begin this set of fixtures only one place and a single point above the relegation zone. They have a tough Boxing Day fixture as they host Fulham who are fourth in the Championship, nine points behind the final automatic promotion position. Luton come into this game having lost their last three league matches wth six goals conceded. Their last 11 league games have produced wins over Wigan and Charlton (neither in the best of form at present) and nine defeats. Luton have scored 28 league goals but still have a goal difference of -19. Those 47 league goals conceded is the worst record in this league. Home form is inconsistent with three wins and three defeats in the last six league games but five have been lost.

Fulham's form has been up and down for most of the season. They have been as high as third but recently dropped out of the play-off positions after a run of three straight defeats. Then at the weekend, they bounced back to form with a 2-1 home win over league leaders Leeds United. That's seen them move up to fourth but they will still need a massive effort to win automatic promotion. Fulham have won four away league games but lost the same number. The problem with Fulham is their lack of consistency, they should be able to win this game but trusting them to do so isn't easy. A better bet is to go for both teams to score.
