The MLS enters Match Day 4 with one of the top games seeing LA Galaxy host Los Angeles FC. The two Western Conference sides have had a mixed start to the season. Galaxy head to the game on six points, placed fifth and LAFC on five points placed sixth. Galaxy come to this game from a 3-0 loss to Seattle Sounders, breaking their two-game winning run in the opening fixtures. They have now seen each of their three matches end in over 2.5 goals and they’ve conceded at least two goals in each of the three. They still have the defensive issues carried on from last year, and now have just one clean sheet in 10 MLS matches. In their last meeting with LAFC, they lost 2-0 but will be hoping for a better turn, having gone unbeaten in four home matches in the league so far. Three of the four home league matches ended in wins.

LAFC on their part, are still unbeaten in the season, but they haven’t won any of their last two after the opening victory over MLS new boys, Austin FC. They opened the season with a 2-0 win but have followed it up with two draws, with Corey Baird scoring twice in the opening three matches. He scored the opener against Houston Dynamo in the last game but their lead lasted just two minutes, the game ending 1-1. They have one clean sheet in the opening three matches and have one win in 11 away games in the league drawing back to last season. Seven of the 11 matches have ended in losses.
