It's an important weekend for Inter Miami as they play their first game. They travel to Los Angeles FC for their debut match and their President, David Beckham will be hoping to see his team get off to a good start. They are managed by Diego Alonso from Uruguay who has previously managed Monterrey to the CONCACAF Champions League title. This new side doesn't have that many star players but their squad comes from 11 different nationalities. This month has seen them taking part in the Suncoast Invitational, losing 2-1 to Philadelphia Union but beating Tampa Bay Rowdies 1-0. Life is expected to be hard for Inter Miami with a completely new line-up that will take a while to gel, if at all.
Los Angeles FC won the Western Conference of the MLS last season finishing 16 points clear. They then lost in the semi-final of the play-offs, being beaten 3-1 by eventual winners Seattle Sounders. Los Angeles FC only lost one of their 17 home games in the regular season, so you can see how hard a debut this is for Inter Miami. The success that Los Angeles had came in just their second season in the MLS, so Inter will hope to follow that path. They haven't made many changes from their team from last season and top striker Carlos Vela will again be a major threat after scoring 34 goals last season. This looks booked for a home win.
