Third seed Alexander Bublik faces the fifth seeded Lorenzo Musetti in the BOSS Open quarter-finals in Stuttgart. This is a match in the bottom half of the draw and the only other remaining seed is second seeded Ben Shelton. Bublik has played one match to get to the last eight of this grass court tournament. That saw him defeat wild card Hamad Medjedovic in straight sets. He only dropped one game in the first set but had to go to a tie-break in the next to clinch the victory. Bublik is at a career-high 17th in the live rankings and could climb to 16th if reaching the final. In the Live ATP Race, he's 21st but has a chance of getting into the top 20 this week. He won the Halle Open grass court title last year and made it to round four at Wimbledon so this is a surface that he likes playing on.

World number 30 Lorenzo Musetti remains in that position in the live rankings. He still has a battle on his hands to secure a place in the top 32 and be seeded at Wimbledon. The Italian is 33rd in the ATP Live Race after Wednesday's matches. He's known for his ability on clay but isn't too bad on this surface. On grass, the 22-year-old made it to the third round at Wimbledon last year after two previous first round exits. 2023 saw him get to two grass court quarter-finals, one at Queen's Club and the other in this tournament. This year has seen him beat Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets but need three to defeat Dominik Koepfer after losing the first. Of the five sets he's played, four have gone to a tie-break.
