Liverpool looks to move a step closer to the Premier league title when they play host to struggling west Ham United this Monday. Liverpool go to the game on 76 points at the top of the standings while West ham are still stuck in the relegation zone with 24 points. Going to this game, the odds are heavily stacked against West Ham as of all the losses Liverpool have suffered this season, none has come in the Premier League. They are coming from a 1-0 loss at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and while that may have dented their chances in the competition, there is very little doubt that Liverpool will win the league title. They are a massive 22 points ahead of their closest challenger and have an incredibly good run at home. The last time Liverpool lost at home in the Premier League was back in 2017. They have a 53-game unbeaten run in the league at home and this season alone, they have won each of their 13 home matches. In 12 of the 13, they have scored two goals or more and they head to this clash with five straight clean sheets at home in the league and having scored 11. They are the only unbeaten side in the Premier league this season, and have only dropped points in one draw out of the 26 matches. After the draw, against Manchester United, Liverpool have registered an impressive run of 17 straight wins in the league.

On the other hand, West Ham do not carry a very good run to this game and are staring at the relegation trapdoor. They have no win in their last seven matches, and have lost five of those. They have conceded two or more goals in four of the last five matches and have failed to score in three. They have scored more than one goal in just one of their last seven matches. Their last win came back in January, an FA Cup clash against Gillingham but in the Premier league they have one win and six losses in their last nine matches. That win came against struggling Bournemouth on New Year’s Day. Their away situation has not been any better; West Ham have lost each of their last four league matches away from home, conceding two or more goals in three of those while failing to score in two. They have the third weakest defence in the league and facing a side with one of the best attacks is not going to be a good experience for the Hammers, who have already conceded 45 goals. West Ham have not beaten Liverpool in any of the last seven meetings; they have lost five.
