Liverpool went behind to Southampton on Friday evening but fought back to win 3-1 at Southampton and go back to the top of the English Premier League. That took their unbeaten run to 14 games in all competitions this season. Now they continue their bid to reach the final of the Champions League for the second season in a row. They host Porto in the first leg of their quarter-final with the winners facing either Manchester United or Barcelona in the last four. Liverpool have won their last five games (all with both teams scoring) and in the Champions League this season they've won three and drew with Bayern Munich. That extends their unbeaten home run in this competition to 12 games with seven clean sheets in the last nine.

Porto top the Portuguese Primeira League at the time of writing, three points ahead of Benfica who have a game in hand. They are unbeaten in their last six league and cup games but have only three wins in their last seven away matches. In the Champions League this season, Porto won a not-to-difficult group against Schalke, Galatasaray and Lokomotiv Moscow. In the last 16 they beat AS Roma after extra-time. Only two of their four away games have been won with only two in the last seven. That includes a goalless draw at Anfield in last season's Champions League but Liverpool played a weakened side after winning the away first leg 5-0. Liverpool can win this game and lead at both half and full time.
