This cup tie will see two teams in contrasting form lock horns with one another for a place in the Coupe de la Ligue semi-finals. The hosts Lille won four of five domestic matches in December including a 3-0 win away at Monaco in the last-16 of this competition and they also went to 4th in Ligue 1 while their guests Amiens have just win in eight and that was their last-16 victory over Rennes (3-2).  Amiens, often referred to as the unicorns, were knocked out of the Coupe de France on Saturday on penalties, losing out to Rennes who managed to exact their revenge for an earlier cup exit.  

Amiens now find themselves in the relegation zone in Ligue 1 due to their poor form and how a cup semi-final would manage to excite the fans if they were to get there. However, Lille remain unbeaten in domestic matches at home this season with only Ajax and Chelsea going to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and winning in the Champions League. Lille have picked up more points in home Ligue 1 matches than any other team including PSG with a total of 26 points (8 wins, 2 draws) but they are yet to host a cup-tie at home this season. The visitors have just one win on the road in 11 games this season and have ultimately lost each of their last five games on their travels.
