Third placed Leipzig are five points behind Bundesliga league leaders Bayern Munich. They resume their season with a home game against Freiburg who are in eighth position and 14 points behind their opponents. Leipzig's last game was a memorable one unless you support a certain London club. They beat Tottenham 3-0 at home in the Champions League to qualify for the quarter finals. They have no losses in their last six league matches but the last two have both ended in draws up against Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg (both in the top seven). Leading into the suspension of the season, their defence was in top form with six clean sheets in seven games. Only one of 12 home league games has been lost with just one defeat in 19. Only the top two have conceded less home goals in the Bundesliga. Six of their last eight home league fixtures have been won and their only home loss was to Schalke in September.

Freiburg are a point away from the final Europa League qualifying place. Their last league game was a 3-1 home win over Union Berlin but that was a welcome victory. Before that, they had won just one of their last eight league fixtures. Away form has been strange this season to say the least. At one stage, they won three away league games in a row but have now won just one of the last ten. Their promising start to the new season saw them earn 14 points from their first seven but the last ten have only produced 11 points. Another defeat looks likely here, go for Leipzig to win and be ahead at both half and full time.
