RB Leipzig's tough start to the Bundesliga season may worsen when Bayern Munich visit the Red Bull Arena this weekend. The home side are tenth in the table with three points after losing two of their opening three games. Bayern, the reigning champions, chase their tenth successive title after picking up seven points in the first three games. As usual, Robert Lewandowski is standing out as the league's best player in the opening weeks, even putting the phenomenal Erling Haaland in the shade, with five goals already. He and Haaland have a habit in common: They shoot a lot. They are the only players to average more than 5.5 shots per game. Playing in teams as stacked as Bayern and Dortmund are partial enablers of such impressive statistics. Leipzig once had a striking extraordinaire of their own in Timo Werner, but they sold him last year. Leipzig have had to watch a lot of talent exit in recent months, mainly to Bayern. 

After Hansi Flick announced he was leaving for the Germany job, Bayern recruited Julian Nagelsmann. Tipped for the top for a long time, Nagelsmann wasted no time leaving Leipzig, and a star Leipzig player, Marcel Sabitzer, soon followed him. While Leipzig's business model is to develop talent before selling for a profit, this was something of an exodus. It leaves Leipzig, who reached the latter stages of the Champions League in recent seasons, looking way off title contention. We believe Bayern - who have kept clean sheets in five of their last seven games against Leipzig - will comfortably win this game.
