Both Leicester City and Southampton will welcome a break from Premier League activity as they seek to bounce back to winning ways in the second FA Cup semi final at Wembley on Sunday. Leicester City are coming from two straight losses in the league, with the most recent quite an upset as they fell 3-2 to West Ham United. It is a tough season for the Foxes but they can finish on a high, with a top four place well in their hands and the FA Cup to contest for. Leicester have conceded five goals in their last two matches and have just one clean sheet in the last five matches. They are at a point they’d wish for Caglar Soyuncu’s availability, and the Turkish defender could feature here after spending weeks in isolation in Turkey. Kelechi Iheanacho has been the star player for the team in recent times. With Jamie Vardy experiencing a goal drought, Iheanacho has embraced well the goal getting duties, and he has eight goals in the last five matches. He scored twice against Manchester United in the quarters and has three in this competition. With just one loss in 14 away matches, Leicester have done quite well on the road, and playing at a neutral venue should not trouble them. This is their third straight game against Premier League opposition in this competition, so they will be well prepared. James Maddison and Ayoze Perez could return after being sidelined on internal disciplinary issues but Harvey Barnes is still out injured.

Southampton will also welcome this break from league action after enduring another tough campaign. Right before this game, they were beaten 3-0 by West Bromwich Albion, their third loss in five matches, which also left them with just one clean sheet in the last five matches. While they are a decent attacking team, Southampton’s progress has badly been hampered with defensive frailty. In their last five matches alone, the team has conceded 12 goals and has also struggled away from St. Mary’s in recent matches – losing seven of the last 10. They’ve already eliminated two Premier League sides and will feel they have a good chance against Leicester City, especially as they have no fresh injuries. In their four FA Cup matches so far, Southampton have kept clean sheets in all, and scored twice in three. In the last four meetings between these two sides, each has won twice, the biggest of them being Leicester’s 9-0 win last season.
