A little over a month after their meeting in the Community Shield, Leicester City and Manchester City will be renewing their rivalry, this time in the Premier League, with Leicester playing host. Both teams have so far garnered six points from three league games, with Leicester being ninth and City seventh in the standings. The hosts are coming from a labored 2-1 win over Norwich, and haven’t been very comfortable in their recent matches. They have four wins in five recent matches, and these wins have been via one-goal margins. Leicester have only two clean sheets in the last five matches, one of them in the 1-0 win over City in the Community Shield. In league action, Leicester have three losses, two wins and one clean sheet in the last five matches. They’ve conceded two or more goals in three of those five matches and at home in the league, they have two losses in three. They will miss Ayoze Perez in this game as he is suspended.

Manchester City started the season with a loss but have recovered to register two 5-0 wins, over Norwich and Arsenal. Going to the fourth round of matches, they are the joint leading scorers in the league with 10 goals and have the best goal difference at +9. Their wins in the last two matches are the only clean sheets they’ve had in the last five matches, but City have scored 17 goals in the last five league matches. They’ve failed to score in just one of the last 13 league matches – the 1-0 loss to Spurs. Pep Guardiola’s side has two losses in three meetings with Leicester City and they will be keen to avenge especially the 5-2 loss at home last season. For this game, the visitors will be without Gabriel Jesus and goalkeeper Ederson after Brazil asked for their restriction.
