Leicester City have a very slim chance of playing continental football next season and they can keep that dream alive by getting three points when they host Everton. The two sides haven’t had great runs this season; Leicester go into this game with 42 points, in 11th place while Everton have 32 points in 18th place. With five matches to go, the Champions League is out of Leicester City’s reach but they are still in the Conference League so that could keep their European dreams alive. In fact, they will face Roma in the return leg of their Conference League semis before taking on Everton. The last five matches haven’t been great – Leicester City are winless in all of them and they are coming from a 3-1 loss to Tottenham. That was their second defeat in four league matches and they have just one clean sheet in the last five league games. It has been better for them at home, and they go into this game unbeaten in the last six league matches at the King Power Stadium.

Everton have their backs against the wall; they have a game in hand but find themselves in the relegation region with five matches to go. The positive thing is that they are just two points below safety, and are coming from a crucial win over Chelsea. The bad news though, is that the teams above them, especially Burnley, have put in a good shift and look more likely to survive. This will be the second meeting between these two sides in under a month, the earlier game having ended 1-1 at Goodison Park. Richarlison scored a stoppage time equalizer then, and he will be back to haunt Leicester here, having scored four in the last five matches. The Brazilian has four goals in the last six matches against Leicester City. In the last four meetings between these two sides, Everton are unbeaten, drawing two and winning two.
